Language
Our area is strongly bilingual, which is a major asset in today’s globalized economy. There is a large presence of francophone speakers in Opasatika and Val Rita-Harty. The two townships also possess a far greater bilingual population compared to the rest of Cochrane District and the province as a whole. Over 73% of Opasatika residents are bilingual and over 69% of Val Rita-Harty residents are bilingual, compared to only 11.5% of Ontario residents.
